Food trip: A feel of Japanese KABUKIZA
Just two Saturdays ago, I went to a Japanese-resto trip with some Arashi fan friends (or should I say Arashi-fan sisters?). We stopped by several establishments and got acquainted with a somewhat authentic Japanese resto named "KABUKIZA".
I always pass by this resto on the way to the gym. It's in Adriatico, a street right at the back of Robinson's Ermita. In terms of environment, the place is quite cozy actually.. I liked the aura of calmness the place has.. Upon entering, we were greeted by the staff with a loud "Irrashaimase~", followed by the sound of Taiko drum. I think they hit the taiko drum based on the number of the customers entering the joint.. Unfortunately, I was unable to take a picture of the drum XD
As for the picture above, I was trying to get a good angle of the
resto but I think upon seeing that I was trying to take a picture, the
guard posed (I think he simply want to be in the picture) and it would
be rude for me not to take his pic XD He did made an effort to pose XD
Anyway.. Behold, the entrance of KABUKIZA
Cozy neh? That's the first floor of the joint as well as some hanging decors.. Noticed the Mt. Fuji painting? What amused me is the japanese-like setting they had on their second floor. It's not that you get to sit on a zabuton demo those small chairs that I don't even know the name XD
Oh.. If anyone tried to search for me using these pics, you won't since I'm the one taking the pics XD We were required to remove our shoes/slippers before entering the second floor rooms. Honestly speaking, it's my first time eating in this kind of resto.. I got too amused with the set-up of the place that I tend to take pics here and there XD
The food prices were ok.. Considering that we're in an authentic resto.. The items we ordered are their lunch bento. I ordered a Mixed Tempura bento (480 PhP), Kimmy ordered Ebi Fry bento (480 PhP), Karen and Kathy ordered the Katsudon (am I right?) bento (520 PhP I think.. I can't really remember the price..Gomen..) And it's my first time eating cold soba.. I never imagined that it would taste like ginger if you don't dip it in the dipping sauce XD The tempura was deelish.. Lolz~
Pictures above are: (1) Condiments >_< (2) Mixed Tempura Bento (3) Ebi Fry Bento (4) Katsudon bento. Do Japanese really eat this much during lunch? Gomen demo I really don't have any idea XD but I was full.. And satisfied.. And satiated.. It was worth the price.. I think the staffs got amused with us since they kepy laughing when they get our orders.. They also spoke in Nihonggo.. I forgot what they said when we asked for the bill XD
In all, the experience is good.. Please do try to drop by the resto if you have time. Their prices during lunchtime differs after 3PM.. Lunch time is waaaaaay cheaper since they double their prices after 3PM.
Oh.. And I found a copy of Josei Jishin in the shop.. And no.. Arashi's not in the cover nor in the issue XD

i'd also recommend Little Tokyo here in makati..just beside Makati Cinema Square. the surroundings will really make you feel like you're in japan (mala haikei ang setting) & i think some of the restos there even have japanese chefs. madami nga ako nauto na nakapunta ako sa japan because of the pics..hehe! the price is basically the same at authentic jap food din nman. yun nga lng they close at around 2pm or 3pm then re-open around 6pm (siesta time cguro..hehe!)
